Short abstract and comments
Development of final dosage forms (medicines) in the form of dry powders for inhalation, delivered to the patient through the use of a delivery device integral to the medicine. This is an inhouse and service offering provided by Hovione. It is an integrated service that starts with the development of the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient), is followed by particle engineering to produce particles of the required size, shape and morphology to be delivered to the lungs, continues with the incorporation of excipients if required and is completed by the choice (and sometimes development) of a suitable dry powder delivery device to deliver the powder formulation to the target airways on patient inhalation. This service can be customised depending upon specific project requirements and also provides clinical trials supplies and support for product registration and commercialisation.
Potential uses/indications
